New corporate name
Effective immediately, the former Tognum AG will now operate under the name of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG
Since March 2013, the specialist for large engines, propulsion systems and distributed energy systems has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Rolls-Royce plc and Daimler AG, each of which has a 50% shareholding in the company via a joint venture.
The regional companies will also operate under a new name: Tognum America Inc., which is based in Novi/Michigan, USA, will now operate as MTU America Inc and Tognum Asia Pte Ltd, which is based in Singapore, will operate under its new name of MTU Asia Pte Ltd.
“The new name Rolls-Royce Power Systems reflects the close industrial ties to Rolls-Royce. At the same time, our owners Rolls-Royce and Daimler have clearly affirmed their commitment to our traditional brands of MTU, MTU Onsite Energy and L’Orange,” said D. Ulrich Dohle, who has been chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of the company since July 2013.
