Naming ceremony of multi-purpose vessel
The 105.4m-long and 18.8m-wide “Meri” is designed for global operations like the transport of project-cargo such as offshore wind farm structures, for energy wood transport in the Baltic Sea area as well as for operating in oil spill response activities. It is the first dry cargo vessel in the Baltic Sea built according to the Aker Arctic DASTM design that enables the vessel to operate efficiently astern in ice. The main engines of the newbuilding can use environmentally friendly bio oil as fuel.
