More tug construction orders

Ineos FPS and Targe Towing order new ‘Special Bogacays’ tugs (Source: Sanmar)

Turkey’s Sanmar Shipyards plans to build two tugs with a 70-tonne bollard pull. They will be based on the RAmparts 2400 SX design from marine architects Robert Allan are named the Special Bogacays type.
The first of the two latest orders came from Ineos FPS, whose operations include the Hound Point Forties crude oil export terminal in the Firth of Forth in Scotland, where Targe Towing has managed the towing services on behalf of Ineos FPS. The second has been ordered by Targe Towing itself for its own Northeast Scotland port operation where this additional vessel will join Kittiwake, a Bogacay-Class vessel already in service. They will be built to Bureau Veritas classification. Sanmar Shipyards has been steadily expanding in tug construction in past years.
