MacGregor to supply specialist equipment for German research vessel

The research vessel Atair II will be operating in the North and Baltic seas

Delivery of the MacGregor equipment will be completed by the March 2019.
The 74m-long Atair II, which will be capable of running on LNG, will have a 200m2 working deck with laboratories and an air pollution measuring facility. The vessel will operate for the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency in the North and Baltic seas, carrying out hydrographic surveys, wreck search operations, and marine environmental monitoring.

Marine engineering Cargotec subsidiary, MacGregor, has won a contract to supply oceanographic winches and Triplex deck handling systems for a dual-fuelled research vessel, Atair II, currently under construction at Germany’s Fassmer shipyard in Berne.
