Large-scale reconstruction work completed

After more than five months of diligent work, 61 m long and 13.5 m wide oil rigs service ship ”Sentinel“ has been delivered to its customer, the Italian shipping company Diamar S.p.A.


During modernization of the offshore market designed supply and service ship ”Sentinel“ appr. 76 tons of steel were renewed, bow and aft thrusters were mounted, DP system was installed, new power diesel generators, electricity, ventilation and other systems were mounted. Main deck was also renewed, thorough renovation of all accomodation spaces was accomplished, new furniture and techniques were installed. VLG subsidiary UAB ”Vakaru korpusu konstrukcijos“ executed all hull related jobs. More than ten subcontracting companies were involved in this project.

UAB ”Vakaru laivu remontas“ (VLR), subsidiary of Lithuanian AB ”Vakaru laivu gamykla“ (VLG) in Klaipeda, has completed one of the first large-scale ship modernizations this year.
