Kongsberg wins second RoPax contract at FSG

Kongsberg Maritime has won an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract with Siem Group subsidiary Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft (FSG).

The “Full Picture” contract, the second RoPax deal that Kongsberg has been awarded at FSG, will cover engineering, procurement, project management, maritime technology deliveries and installation on a LNG-powered RoPax vessel to be built for France’s Brittany Ferries.
The 42,400gt ferry, to be named Honfleur, will have an overall length of 187.4m, a beam of 31m, a cargo capacity of 2,200 lane metres and an additional car deck for 300 cars. The vessel will have capacity for a total of 1800 passengers and crew, and will have 255 passenger cabins, and various bars, restaurants and lounges on two decks.  
Kongsberg will supply and integrate the LNG fuel gas supply system, electrical, telecom and integrated control systems, and a range of components including shaft generators, switchboards, automation systems, an emergency shut down system, rudder control, navigation systems, radio/satellite external and internal communications, and entertainment and information systems.
