Kleven to build two stern trawlers for DFFU

The two stern trawlers will be delivered in 2017

The vessels are to be delivered from Kleven’s Myklebust Verft in Gursken, Norway, in February and June 2017, respectively.  The 80m-long ICE 1A* vessels will be equipped with a wide range of Rolls-Royce equipment, including the B33:45 main engine, thrusters, automation and winches. According to John Knudsen, president of Commercial Marine at Rolls-Royce, the trawlers will be the first fishing vessels with Rolls-Royce’s Wave Piercing bow design.

Norway’s Kleven has signed a contract with the German company Deutsche Fischfang-Union (DFFU), a subsidiary of the Icelandic seafood company Samherji, for the construction of two stern trawlers of Rolls-Royce’ NVC 374 WP design.
