The ice class 1A vessel, a Salt 200 design, has a bollard pull of 260 tonnes, open deck space of more than 800m2 and a further covered area of 102m2. The vessel has a 450-tonne anchor handling winch housed in an enclosed space providing protection for the crew in harsh conditions.
The Maersk Mobiliser, like its sisters, is designed for deepwater operations. Following the christening ceremony on the last day of October, the vessel was due to leave the shipyard to be mobilised for a future charter with a major Canadian operator involving drilling support and ice management duties.
The sixth and final anchor handler in the series is due to be handed over by Kleven at the end of January.

Maersk Supply Service has taken delivery of the Maersk Mobiliser, the fifth anchor handler in a series of six built at Norwegian shipyard, Kleven.
