The 6,000m3 trailing suction hopper dredger Sanderus for Luxembourg-based Jan de Nul Group has arrived in Belgium.

Sanderus is Jan De Nul's fourth ultra-low emission dredger launched within the past year. The vessel was built in Singapore at Keppel O&M and had left the shipyard in January. The dredging group is investing in the ultra-low emission vessels as it aims for an improved air quality. The dredgers are equipped with a catalyst that renders nitrogen oxides harmless and with a soot filter for blocking the finest particles.

Sanderus is to be deployed on maintaining the navigation depth in the access channels to Flemish ports under the authority of the Flemish Government.
