The Damen ASD Tugs 3212 Mars and Mercurius have been officially named at a ceremony held at IJmuiden Port, Amsterdam
The Mars and the Mercurius, both Damen ASD Tugs 3212, have a bollard pull of 82.5 tonnes, providing them with sufficient power to handle the largest vessels calling at the two ports. The tugs will also be available to undertake offshore assignments in the North Sea.
Mijndert Wiesenekker, Damen’s sales director Benelux, commented: “Our congratulations to the Iskes family and everyone at the Iskes Towage & Salvage company on reaching their 50th anniversary. We are proud to have played a part in their success, with twelve Damen vessels currently serving in their fleet.”
Iskes Towage & Salvage was established by Ben Iskes, father of the current owner Jim Iskes, in 1968. The company currently operates a fleet of 19 modern tugs.
