Hyundai and Accelleron sign turbocharger optimisation deal

HD Hyundai Marine Solution (HD HMS) and Accelleron have signed an agreement that will simplify access to digital turbocharger optimisation systems on vessels built or serviced by the world’s largest shipbuilder, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering.
Accelleron’s Turbo Insights performance analytics platform is to be integrated into HD HMS’ Integrated Smartship System (ISS), with further digital functionality available on demand. The result of the integration will offer potential for customers to cut fuel costs, reduce emissions, and optimise maintenance, the companies said.
Turbo Insights will monitor turbocharger performance in real time by way of an interactive compressor map chart and key performance indicator. As a result, HD HMS will be able to monitor and support clients by providing an overview of turbocharger performance. Other digital systems from Accelleron will also be available as options through ISS, including the engine optimisation system, Tekomar XPERT, and Turbo MarineCare.
