The Netherlands-based No Limit Ships Shipyard, Groningen, announced the delivery of its biggest hydrographic research vessel that was ever built at the yard to its Russian owner.

With an overall length of 19.4m, a breadth of 5.8m, a draught of 1.3m, the newbuilding will be deployed for survey activities in the White Sea.
The research vessel of the 1940 design is equipped with three double-cabins. Furthermore, it offers space for a small crane on the afterdeck to lower a dinghy, a mini-sub, a sidescan sonar or a ROV into the water.
Two MAN D 2842 LE 405 900 HP diesel engines provide power for a maximum speed of about 20 knots. The hull was built of steel, reinforced at the bow and the superstructure is of aluminium. The No Limit 1940 is a bigger copy of the No Limit 1640 and has a displacement of 45 tonnes (compared to 30 tonnes).
