Heesen Yachts starts construction of Project Sparta

Dutch yard Heesen Yachts has started construction of a 1,200gt superyacht, the largest steel-hulled displacement motor yacht built by Heesen up to now. The 67m yacht, Project Sparta, has a hull form designed by naval architects Van Oossanen, and has a profile above the waterline from Winch Design. Two MTU 12V4000 M65R diesel engines give a top speed of 16 knots, with a transatlantic cruising range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. The project is managed by Arcon Yachts of Monaco, which is their third collaboration with Heesen. Four guest suites are located forward on the main deck. With a sliding partition, the two forward cabins can be transformed into a full-beam VIP cabin. A spiral staircase encircling a glass elevator serves all three decks. As well as the crew quarters and galley, the lower deck houses a walk-in wellness area, with oval Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gymnasium. The bridge deck for the owner features two suites, one located forward with a private outdoor lounge, and the other facing aft, with access to outdoor dining and lounging areas on a private terrace. The sundeck has a bar and another Jacuzzi, surrounded by large sun pads. A crew of 14 and two additional service personnel will be carried. Project Sparta is scheduled to be delivered in 2023.
