The pipelay vessel will be based on an Ulstein Sea of Solutions basic design, DLS-4200, with some modifications and will be one of the largest vessels of its kind combining S-lay double joints pipelay operations with heavy lifting capacity.ABS will be providing design review and full classification of the vessel upon construction. This newbuild is part of NPCC's fleet renewal plan to meet the needs of the increasingly busy offshore market in the Middle East. The unit is scheduled for delivery by the third quarter 2012.
