The vessel, which will reach 34 knots at full load, will be driven by two engines each of 3,000 hp, which will make it one of the most powerful and fastest glassfibre reinforced plastic (GRP) ferries built in Spain. It will be constructed in the next nine months. The GRP division of the shipbuilder said it has built vessels according to the demanding high speed regulations HSC 2000, without regulatory problems and meeting agreed delivery dates. Recently, the shipyard also received the recognition of the Spanish Association of Naval Architects for its latest deliveries: four Eco fast ferry vessels. These catamarans, also of type HSC 2000, were built for Spanish ferry operator Balearia, and are currently operating between Ibiza and Formentera.
