Gondan delivers live fish carrier

The Martin Sæle during sea trials

It will operate in the Shetland Islands, where it will transport young and adult fish between various farms along the coast as well as to and from inland fish factories and farms.
The ship, 50m long and 12.6m wide, can carry up to 1,000m3 of water and live fish in its hold. Able to accommodate up to seven crew members, it will be operated by only four due to its high degree of automation, according to the shipyard.

Gondan Shipyard has announced delivery of the Martin Sæle, the Spanish shipbuilder's first live fish carrier, to the vessel's owner, Norway's Salmon Star AS. Following successful completion of sea trials, the vessel headed to Bergen, Norway, its port of registry.
