Spain’s Gondan Shipbuilders has launched a 69.9m-long stern trawler, built to a Kongsberg Maritime design, for Norwegian owner Engenes Fiskeriselskap AS. The vessel, the first to be built for the Norwegian company in Spain, will operate in northern waters including the North Atlantic, Barents Sea and Svalbard archipelago.

Kongsberg has supplied a package of equipment for the ice-class freezing trawler which has a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. With accommodation for 29 persons, the vessel will be capable of automatically processing whole white fish prior to freezing and storing them in the 1,400m3 hold. The vessel has been built to DNV GL class.
