The two vessels are due for delivery in 2021 when they will be deployed on the company’s ferry service across the Bass Strait between Melbourne and Devonport. The 212m-long vessels will have capacity for 1,800 passengers and up to 600 vehicles.
"We are very pleased that we were selected by the TT-Line Supervisory Board in competition against a number of international shipyards to design and build the new Spirits of Tasmania," commented Rüdiger Fuchs, FSG chief executive officer. "The two ships are specially developed for use in the rough seas of Bass Strait and feature the latest technology for eco-efficiency."

Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft mbH & Co KG (FSG) has won a EUR 438 million contract for the design and construction of two new LNG-powered passenger ferries for Tasmania’s TT-Line Company Pty Ltd.
