FSG wins order for two RoRo vessels

Sketch of the new RoRo vessel for the Siem Group

German shipbuilder Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has been contracted by the Norwegian-controlled Siem Group to build two further RoRo vessels.

The Siem Group, which took over FSG in November 2014, will charter out the vessels on a long-term bareboat basis to Copenhagen-based DFDS A/S, a provider of shipping and transport services in Europe.
FSG developed the design and has already delivered the vessel type to several customers. The vessels are 209.6m long and have a capacity of 4,076 lane metres for up to 262 trailers 14m in length. They are scheduled for delivery in May and September 2017, respectively.
