Four PSVs ordered

The already delivered “Blue Fighter” at work on the Beryl field in the North Sea

The PX121 is a medium-sized vessel, with a length of 83.4m, a beam of 18m and a cargo deck area of 875m². The maximum load capacity is 4200 tonnes (dwt). According to Ulstein, the maximum speed will be approximately 15 knots, and the vessel offers accommodation for 24 persons. The PX121 is adapted to the requirements for longer and deeper boreholes and activities further from shore. In addition to tanks for oil, water and drilling fluids, the vessel has four stainless steel tanks for flammable liquids. It is equipped with a dynamic positioning system Class II and meets the requirements of DNV’s clean design and ICE-C notations. All four ordered units are scheduled for delivery in 2013. Blue Ship Invest already received its first PX121 vessel, “Blue Fighter”, from Ulstein Verft in January this year. A second one will be delivered later this year.

The investment company Blue Ship Invest ordered four platform supply vessels (PSVs) of the PX121 design from Norwegian shipyard Ulstein.
