Four LNG-powered chemical tankers ordered

Sketch of the four LNG-powered chemical tankers

The vessels will be built to a design developed by FKAB and Furetank.  Each vessel is 149.9m long, 22.8m wide and has a draught of 8.85m.
Partners of the alliance, Furetank Rederi AB, Rederi AB Älvtank and Thun Tankers BV, have commissioned Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding Ltd for the construction of the 16,300-dwt tankers. Scheduled for delivery in 2018 and 2019, respectively, two of the 20,000m3 tankers will be owned by Furetank, and Älvtank and Thun Tankers will own one each. They will be commercially managed by Furetank Chartering in the Gothia Tanker Alliance.
The vessels will be equipped with dual-fuel propulsion and will be run on LNG while in ports.
They further feature a ballast water treatment system, ice class 1A and an alternative propulsion system.

The Swedish cargo transporter Gothia Tanker Alliance has ordered four newbuilding intermediate product/chemical tankers with LNG propulsion.
