"Stornes", a flexible fall pipe vessel built by Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Co., Ltd was recently taken over by the Dutch company Van Oord Marine Services BV.
The 175 m long and 26 m wide "Stornes" with DP2 features high technology and construction and commissioning difficulty, and can work in a variety of sea waters. It is a fall pipe vessel developed on the basis of bulk carrier. It is classed by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), and designed for working depths of 300-1200m. Accomodation is provided for 56 persons.
