Turkish shipyard Sefine will construct Wellboats for DESS (Rendering: Salt Ship Design)

Turkey’s Sefine Shipyard has an order for two wellboats for fish farm support from DESS Aquaculture Shipping, a joint venture involving Norwegian shipowner John Fredriksen.

The new vessels - designed by Salt Ship Design, Norway -  wll be 84.4m long and have a beam of 16.0m, with a fish well capacity of 3,500m3. Delivery is scheduled for 2019. The vessels will be assigned to long-term contracts for Marine Harvest.
The contract includes two options for repeat vessels. The venture now has four wellboats and one harvest vessel under construction.
