Steel-cutting for the Spirit of Adventure, the second cruise ship that Meyer Werft is building for the UK’s Saga Cruises has taken place in the shipbuilder’s Papenburg yard, marking the start of construction in time to meet the ship’s planned delivery time of summer 2020.

The 236m-long vessel, a sister ship to the Spirit of Discovery, will be constructed in the shipyard’s Building Dock 1 and will have a design tailored to the British market. The 58,250gt vessels have a capacity for 999 passengers.
