With a length of 137m and a beam of 27m, the 8,000-dwt DP3 vessels will have a free deck of 1,925m2 and be configured to accommodate 120 persons in single cabins.
The vessels, which will all be of Marin Teknikk design, are rated for operations in up to 3,000m of water depth
“With this new order in China, we have taken the next step in our extensive newbuilding programme. We are reshaping our fleet to focus primarily on anchor handling tug supply vessels and subsea support vessels. In a long-term perspective we see great potential in these segments,” said Carsten Plougmann Andersen, CEO of Maersk Supply Service.
Delivery of the first vessels is expected in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Maersk Supply Service has entered into a contract with COSCO (Dalian) shipyard in China for the construction of four subsea support vessels with options for two additional vessels.
