Dream Cruises takes delivery of World Dream

The World Dream has been designed specifically for the Asian market

Bremerhaven’s Meyer Werft has handed over the 151,300gt cruise vessel World Dream to Genting Hong Kong subsidiary Dream Cruises.

The 335m-long vessel, designed and built for Asia’s rapidly expanding cruise market, has capacity for about 3,370 passengers and can cruise at 23 knots. Features include a small deep-sea submarine capable of taking passengers on underwater exploration trips to depths of up to 200m, and a fast motorboat for excursions with a top speed of 37 knots.
The 20-deck DNV GL-classed vessel, to be home-ported in Hong Kong, will initially provide itineraries in China and Vietnam. It has no fewer than 35 restaurants and bars as well as theatres, a climbing park, plenty of space for other outdoor activities, and a large range of virtual reality applications.
The ship’s construction was supported by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) with regional backing from the country’s north-western state of Lower Saxony. The World Dream is the 44th cruise ship delivered by Meyer Werft and will fly the Bahamas flag.
