DNV GL to class pipe-laying vessels at new Vard Promar yard in Brazil

Sketch of the four pipe-laying vessels

They are part of a four-vessel order that had been placed by DOF/Norskan and Technip. The other two vessels are to be built in Norway, also to DNV GL class. The new Vard Promar yard in North East Brazil represents a significant expansion of Brazil’s shipbuilding capability as more yards will be built outside of Rio de Janeiro. The PLSVs will be among the most complex vessels ever constructed in Brazil. Their designs have been developed in close cooperation with DOF and Technip.

Two pipe laying vessels (PLSVs) that will be built at the new Vard Promar yard in Recife, Brazil, will be classed by DNV GL.
