The "VOS Achilles", a 59.25 m long and 14.95 m wide anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel built at the Fujian Shipyard in China, was recently delivered in China.
She is the first in a series of eight “A-types” that will be delivered during the next 18 months. The “A” vessel type is slightly more advanced than the “H-type” and “T-Type” AHTS vessels of the Vroon fleet. The “A-type” has a bigger bow thruster (8 MT) and stern thruster (6 MT) and therefore she has better manoeuvring and station keeping capabilities. She has a DP-1 notation. The bollard pull amounts to 66 t.
