Delivery of tugboat

The “Multratug 19” with a BP pf more than 80 tonnes

The towage and salvage company Multraship is to take delivery of an ASD 3212 tug from Damen Shipyards Group, Galati, Romania.

The “Multratug 19” was built to a specification of a vessel with a minimum bollard pull (BP) of 80 tonnes. During sea trials, the newbuilding achieved a BP of more than 83 tonnes and a speed of almost 15 knots, according to the owner. “Multratug 19” performed well in 3.5m waves and is thus said to be very suitable for escort services. The tug’s winch was developed by Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam together with Bosch Rexroth in cooperation with Lloyd’s Register.
It is the second vessel to be built by Damen for Multraship, following the 2010 delivery of the newbuilding ASD3213 tug, “Multratug 3”, built at Damen’s Vietnam yard.
