The second of two Breakaway Class ships is being delivered nine months after the launch of its sister ship Norwegian Breakaway.
The cruise ship has a length of 325.7m, a breadth of 37,7m and a draught of 8.3m. On 18 decks, it offers space for 4,028 passengers and a crew of 1,640.
With a total engine power of 62,400 kW and propulsion power of 35,000 kW, the DNV-classed Norwegian Getaway reaches a maximum speed of 21.5 knots.
Latest engine technology, a diesel-electric pod drive system, improved hydrodynamics as well as effective energy saving, heat recovery and ballast water treatment guarantee an ecological cruise experience at significantly reduced operating costs, the German shipbuilder noted.
The Norwegian Getaway will be christened in Miami at the beginning of February.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has taken delivery of the 146,600 gt cruise ship Norwegian Getaway from Papenburg-based Meyer Werft after a building period of 15 months.
