The ferry, which is to be built at Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), will operate between Algeria and various ports in southern Europe including Marseille and Barcelona. The 200m-long RoPax vessel will have a capcity for 1,800 passengers, a crew of 180, and more than 600 cars on its 3,000-plus lane metres. The ship’s four main engines will provide a total power of 43,251 kW, giving a service speed of 24 knots.
Describing the EMTMV deal as a 'dream project', OSK chief technical officer Kristian Carøe Lind said: "We get to tailor the vessel completely so that it is fully optimised for the route – both with regard to design and operation as well as commercial flow and passenger experience. Hence, a project like this brings all our competences into play.”

Denmark’s OSK-ShipTech AS is providing the design for a new cruise ferry for state-owned Algerian shipping company ENTMV.
