Netherlands-based Damen Marine Components (DMC) has landed an order to supply parts for four new Multi Cat 3013 workboats being built at C&C Marine & Repair in the US.

Each of the 30m-long Multi Cats will have DMC piston-type steering gear, two tugger winches, an anchor winch, a towing winch, an anchor-handling winch, and two towing pin systems rated at 50 and 80 tonnes. The components will be manufactured at DMC facilities in the Netherlands, Poland and China.

DMC will also supply a triple rudder system for each vessel, produced in-house to a third-party design.

The company’s sales manager, Ronald Beekhof, commented: “It gives us great pleasure to be able to show to the US market that we design and build equipment that vessel owners and operators can depend on for reliability and minimal downtime over the long term. Our thanks go to C&C Marine for giving us this opportunity and we look forward to supporting them throughout the installation and commissioning process.”

C&C Marine & Repair is building two vessels for Texas-based dredging and marine construction firm, Callan Marine. The other two units will be built for stock. All four vessels are due for delivery this year.
