Damen delivers fast crew transfer vessel

A Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 2710, named Green Waves, has been delivered by Damen Shipyards Group to Dutch shipping services company, Rederij Groen. Together with three existing FCS 2610 units, the new vessel will be deployed in the transfer of offshore oil and gas personnel in German and Danish waters.
The FCS 2710 is only 1m longer than its predecessors, but a new deck design enables it to carry twice as many passengers as well as space for 90m2 of cargo. Like the earlier vessels, it has a Sea Axe hull design, enhancing safety and comfort even in challenging sea conditions. Meanwhile, a larger freeboard enables safe operation in higher waves, thereby increasing uptime. Rederij Groen took delivery of the new vessel just six months after contract signing, achieved as a result of Damen’s strategy of building standard vessels in series and for stock.
