Cruiseship hull reaches Genova

The hull of “Seabourn Quest”, to be completed at Genova

The 198 m long, 26 m wide and 6, 40 m deep going hull was built at Ci.Mar. Costruzioni navali in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Udine. The company was formed by T.Mariotti and Cimolai Group for Naval Steel Works.

The “Seabourn Quest” will be powered by twin screw propellers, with a service speed of 19 kts. The fore and aft section of the hull were built separately and then positioned and aligned at Rijeka floating dock in Croatia. After completing all the steel work the new building arrived at Genova with all twelve decks, main engines and major equipment already installed. The final works and outfitting will be done at T.Mariotti Genova. The delivery of the “Seabourn Quest” is scheduled for May 2011.

The hull of the last in a series of three ultra luxury cruiseships for Seabourn Cruise Line, the luxury brand of Miami based Carnival Corporation & PLC, now reached the shipyard T.Mariotti in Genova.
