Corvus Energy wins battery deal for five new ferries

The five ferries are of Havyard design and will be built in Havyard Shipyard in Leirvik, Sogn

The latest order brings the total number of energy storage systems supplied by Corvus Energy for car ferries to more than 40, and the company has already provided systems for eight Fjord1 electric ferries operating on the Norwegian coast.
The 67m-long vessels, of Havyard 932 design, will be equipped with air-cooled Corvus Orca Energy battery systems and have capacity for 50 cars. The ferries are under construction at Havyard’s Leirvik shipyard and are due to become fully operational on four additional Norwegian routes by January 1st 2020.

Canadian-Norwegian energy storage firm, Corvus Energy, is to provide lithium-ion battery-based storage systems for five new all-electric ferries being built by Havyard for Norwegian ferry operator, Fjord1.
