Contract for innovative hybrid marine drive for green anchor handling tug

The AHT is designed with a green focus and will harness the latest fuel saving solutions to minimise environmental impact and optimise operations. It is contracted by the Norwegian tug boat company Buksér og Berging AS and will be delivered in the first quarter of 2015.
By enabling different operating modes for different tasks of a vessel, Kumera said its Norgear multi-step hybrid gear can achieve fuel savings up to a level of 40 to 50%. The contract is valued over NOK 5 million.
