Contract for Eastern Shipbuilding to construct inland river towboats

Customer is U.S. inland waterways operator IWL River, an affiliate of Impala Terminals Colombia. The vessels will be ABS classed and have a retractable pilothouse. Design and detailed engineering is being provided by CT Marine of Portland, Maine. They will be fitted with three diesel main engines of type Caterpillar 3512C, IMO II class of 1,280 hp.

U.S. yard Eastern Shipbuilding said has signed a contract to construct four 44.6m-long inland river, triple screw towboats.
