Construction work on “Costa Diadema” started

During the keel-laying ceremony, the first building block of the ship was lifted by a crane and laid on the bottom of the dock

Costa has invested a total of about EUR 550 million in the new flagship. With a length of 306m and a breadth of 37.2m, the 132,500 gt cruise vessel offers cabins for 4,947 passengers and 1,253 crew members.
The “Costa Diadema” project will employ a total of approximately 1,000 shipyard workers plus another 2,500 employees of allied industries. Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2014.


With a keel-laying ceremony at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard, construction work has begun on Italian Costa Cruises’ latest cruise vessel “Costa Diadema”.
