Hamworth cargo system

The contract comprises five shipsets of cargo pumproom systems and engineroom pumps. The equipment is for five 30,000 dwt products carriers being built for delivery in 2010-2012 to Pertamina by Zhejiang Chenye Shipbuilding Co Ltd, newly established on the island of Daishan near Shanghai. Each shipset of pumproom system equipment includes electrically driven VFD (variable frequency drive) operated cargo pumps, and electrically driven ballast pumps, stripping pump and cargo and ballast eductors. The equipment will all be controlled and monitored by the Hamworthy Cargo Control System (HCCS).

In June Hamworthy signed a contract for an LPG cargo handling system for a 5,000cum FP (fully pressurised) LPG carrier being built for Pertamina by Taizhou Wuzhou Shipbuilding. The scope includes engineering of the cargo handling system and the cargo tanks which will be carried out by Hamworthy Gas Systems with assistance from Hamworthy Baltic Design Centre.

Hamworthy plc. Poole, UK, is supplying cargo systems for six ships being built in China for the Indonesian state-owned oil and gas company, Pertamina: five products carriers and an LPG carrier.
