Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation (QXMC), business arm of the Klahoose First Nation, located on Cortes Island, B.C, Canada, has ordered a water taxi from U.S. yard Brix Marine, formerly Armstrong Marine. The corporation, whose activities include industries such as forestry, aquaculture, tourism and retailing, will expectedly take delivery of the 12-passenger vessel in autumn 2021.

Construction of the 10.6m-long catamaran has started. Twin Volvo Penta D4 270-hp engines with Aquamatic DPI outdrives will provide propulsion. The walk around configuration combined with two side-boarding doors port and starboard allow for safe passenger access from stem to stern.
