AtoB@C Shipping confirms additional order

Swedish shipping company AtoB@C Shipping, a subsidiary of Finland’s ESL Shipping, has ordered one more 5,350dwt battery/hybrid coastal vessel from Indian shipyard Chowgule & Company. One option taken with a previous contract has been confirmed as a firm order.
The shipping company had previously ordered six identical electric hybrid vessels in September 2021. The first two of the vessels are already under construction, and the planned delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.
The 90m-long vessels with Ice class 1A are equipped with battery technology and shore power connection which enable emission- and noise-free port visits. Special attention has also been paid to the arrangements of cargo spaces.
