ASRY has launched two bunker tankers for Bapco Refining, a subsidiary of the Bahrain Petroleum Company. The turnkey project has involved every stage of the building process – from design to construction and outfitting. Following the formal launch of the two vessels, which involved them being lowered into the water for the first time, the final phase has now begun. Commissioning, tests, and sea trials will now take place prior to delivery.
Dr Ahmed Al Abri, ASRY chief executive, commented: “This project is the result of a strong strategic collaboration between ASRY and Bapco Refining. It also shows both sides’ backing for building national skills and for delivering innovative marine solutions that serve the Kingdom’s energy and sea transport sectors.
“This step is another milestone in ASRY’s long track record. It shows the yard can handle demanding jobs with high levels of quality, safety and reliability, thereby reinforcing its position as a leading provider of integration maritime solutions worldwide,” he added.
