Aiming for energy-efficient transport service

Next-generation coal carrier of type EeneX (Source: Mitsui O.S.K.)

Japanese yard Oshima Shipbuilding has an order from Japanese shipping group Mitsui O.S.K. Lines for two 90,000dwt bulk carriers of the new EeneX design. The two vessels will transport coal under contracts from Japanese electric power companies Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. and Hokuriku Electric Power Company .

They will measure about 235m long and 38m wide. The EeneX carrier design reflects MOL aiming safe, reliable, and stress-free transport of resources and energy. The design includes a double-hull structure, semi-box shape of the hold and is ballast-free.
