Acta Marine names second walk-to-work wind support vessel

The Acta Auriga was recently named

The Acta Auriga, named after a stellar constellation in the northern hemisphere, is an Ulstein SX195 design incorporating a SMST 3D-compensated gangway, a 3D crane and Ulstein’s X-Bow and X-Stern that optimise seakeeping and maximise uptime. The ship, with accommodation for up to 120 persons, is deployed as a service vessel for Ocean Breeze Energy’s 400-MW wind farm BARD Offshore 1 in the German Bight. In addition to the Acta Auriga and the Acta Orion, already in service, Acta Marine has a third walk-to-work wind support vessel under construction at Ulstein Verft in Norway, due for delivery early in 2019.
Rob Boer, Acta Marine managing director, said: “With the walk-to-work construction support vessels Acta Orion, Acta Auriga and the newbuild under construction, Acta is well-positioned to support the offshore wind industry going forward. Building on our long track record as owner and operator of a 40-unit fleet of multicats, tugs and crew transfer vessels, Acta is keen to further extend our services toward the offshore industry at large.”

Dutch service vessel operator Acta Marine named a second walk-to-work wind farm support vessel at a ceremony in Emden this week.
