Wilhelmsen to manage Stove Shipping bulkers

Wilhelmsen Ship Management has won a contract for the technical management of two Supramax bulk carriers from Stove Shipping AS. The two vessels, Stove Friend and Stove Tide, were built at Tsuneishi in 2016 and are the latest additions to the Stove Shipping fleet. They will be commercially managed by Norway’s Eastern Bulk Carriers while technical management will be undertaken from Wilhelmsen’s Singapore office.
Commenting on the agreement, Wilhelmsen Ship Management’s CEO and president, said: “Stove Shipping and WSM have worked hand in hand like partners for the past ten years. We have been through the market volatilities together and as the market improves, we hope to ride this momentum together.”
The two bulk carriers are the latest vessels to join the Wilhelmsen group company’s expanding managed fleet. The company has taken on more than 40 new ships for technical management so far this year and is building up both its bulk carrier and gas fleets. It has a portfolio of more than 450 vessels and over 9,000 seafarers in active service. Ships under management include LNG and LPG tankers, RoRo and PCC/PCTC ships, container vessels, cruise ships, bulk carriers and offshore vessels.
