New online training for navigators

It will allow navigators to complete their official ECDIS training by doing an eight-hour online training course. According to Alewijnse, navigators will be able to log in every time and pause whenever they want, as long as they complete the course within three weeks. A credit card login ensures that the person is actually who it claims to be. The final result is an approved familiarisation certificate for the Raytheon Anschütz ECDIS. Alewijnse said that by using the online course, navigators would be able to be trained more easily and cheaper independent of their location.
