LR and Royal Caribbean set up strategic partnership

Classification society Lloyd’s Register (LR) and cruise giant Royal Caribbean Group have announced a strategic partnership that will see the transfer of more than 25 ships to LR class and the provision by the classification society of safety, regulatory compliance, risk management and technical consultancy services to one of the world’s largest cruise lines. The agreement was announced at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami.

Royal Caribbean’s executive vice president and head of Marine, Palle Laursen, said: “This partnership goes beyond technical support. By working together, Lloyd’s Register and Royal Caribbean Group are leveraging our collective expertise to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing the cruise industry.”
