Hammonia joins Suezmax pool

Hamburg-based ship management company, Hammonia Reederei GmbH & Co. KG has joined the Stena Sonangol Suezmax Pool, a joint venture between Stena Bulk and the Angolan state oil company, Sonangol.

Part of the agreement will involve the German owner’s 2020-built 156,000dwt Suezmax, Aura M, joining the 20-vessel pool.

Aderito Pereira, Co-Pool manager, said: "We are very happy to welcome Hammonia as pool members and look forward to working with them as partners as we keep developing Stena Sonangol together.”

Hammonia Reederei managing partner, Dr Karsten Liebing, commented: “We are delighted to have concluded this inaugural deal with Stena Sonangol for our vessel Aura M and are very much looking forward to further collaboration between the two companies in the near future.”

The head of Stena Bulk USA and Co-Pool manager, stated: “We are pleased to welcome Hammonia Reederei as new pool members, This new membership and the addition of Aura M further underscores the pool’s status as a viable Suezmax pool option, now with four Suezmax owners as members.”

The tanker pool has offices in three locations, spanning all time zones. One is located in the US energy hub, Houston, another in Stena’s home city of Gothenburg, and a third in Singapore.
