eDocs service to major independent energy trading company

eSDS services enable users to comply with global and regional legislation which require the production and distribution of Safety Data Sheets, as well as providing significant time and money saving compared to paper processes. SDS compliance obligations require cargo owners to manage, send, track and store multi-lingual safety data sheets when hazardous cargoes are transported. Gunvor International will use the service to comply with the requirements of the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances (REACH) regulations. Global compliance is also provided to requirements of the Globally Harmonised System (GHS).

ESS eSDS services are to enable simple and efficient production and transmission of SDSs as well as providing additional functionality to users. An eSDS can be automatically re-sent should a safety data sheet change and in addition, eSDSs are said to be stored for ten years with a full audit trail of all recipients and readers. Users can build their own proprietary library of eSDS material or take advantage of a shared library maintained by testing industry leader SGS.

Shipping eDocs provider Electronic Shipping Solutions, Valetta, Malta, announced that Amsterdam headquartered Gunvor International has signed up to use its electronic Safety Data Sheet (eSDS) Services.
