Bremen-based German Tanker Shipping GmbH & Co.KG has taken delivery of the first of six 41,000dwt chemical tankers equipped with a Synapsis Integrated Navigation System (INS) from Anschütz. The TMS Seadevil was delivered by China’s Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry in January.

The Synapsis INS includes all of the navigation and steering requirements for tankers including solid-state radars with latest radar technology, seven multifunctional workstations for ECDIS, a chart station with a 42-inch display, a NautoPilot 5400 autopilot, and a dual Standard 30 MF gyro compass system.

The tankers are designed to support safe navigation in restricted waters, precise manoeuvring in ports and terminals, and reliable global operations under varying environmental conditions. These requirements set high expectations for the bridge systems and integrated navigation technology on board.

Following the successful delivery and commissioning of the first system, the Anschütz team in Shanghai will continue to work with the shipyard on system installations for the remaining five vessels.
